Senior Bucks

Entry #1

Evaluator comments:

This Mini-Nubian buck is showing excellent depth in the heart girth and is blended well in the front end assembly with upright head carriage and excellent breed character about the head. He is strong in masculinity showing adequate muscling. In body capacity he shows strong brisket development and good spring of rib to add to his depth. He would benefit from greater levelness from hips to pins as well as being more level from thurl to thurl. I would like to see more arch through the escutcheon and more depth at flank.

Entry #2

Evaluator comments:

This buck scores well in general appearance with his excellent breed character about the head, upright head carriage and strength in the topline. He would benefit from more fullness at the crop as well as width in the chest floor, but is showing good width through the loin and as well as width between the hocks. He is showing strength in that rear end assembly but could be a bit more perpendicular from hock to pastern to improve his score. He would benefit from greater levelness from hips to pins, adding balance to the development he is showing in the brisket and giving him more angularity as we view him from the side.

Entry #3

Evaluator comments:

This buck is showing good width in the chest floor as well as strength of muscling in the neck with a proper upright head carriage. His breed character in Roman nose and set to the ears adds to his general appearance. He could improve in body capacity with greater spring of rib and more depth increasing back in to the flank. He would benefit from stronger front pasterns and straighter front legs as we view him from the side. He is very correct in rear leg angulation as viewed from the rear while still looking for a more rounded arch in the escutcheon and greater levelness from thurl to thurl and stronger front pasterns.

Entry #4

Evaluator comments:

This buck is showing strong dairy character with his sharpness, incurving thigh, and upstanding appearance and length of body. He is an angular buck standing on strong legs and feet showing a lot of width between the hocks regardless of the wide stance he is set in here. He would improve in general appearance with greater smoothness of blending from the neck into the shoulders and a more upright head carriage. In breed character, his length of ear is excellent but I cannot fully evaluate his nose or profile from the photos here.

Entry #5

Evaluator comments:

This buck has strength in dairy character with his length of body and neck, coupled with his overall sharpness. His angularity over the top illustrates his spring of rib and width through the rear. He is very open and arched through the escutcheon. He would improve in legs and feet by being tighter in the toes and straighter on his front legs. He is lacking in brisket development and would benefit from increased depth of body from the heart girth increasing back to the flank. In breed character he would improve with greater length and drop to the ears and a more convex profile.

Entry #6

Evaluator comments:

The Mini Nubian here is showing good breed character in his length and set to the ears. He has good length of body but would benefit from more width in the chest floor as well as in the escutcheon. In body capacity he would benefit from more fullness through the crops and greater spring of rib. As we view him from the side he is showing a correct slope to the rump and is high in the tail set and sharp in the pins. He is well angulated at the stifle giving him a proper set to those rear legs from the side and from what can be observed he appears correct in leg set when viewed from the rear but could be more fully evaluated on a grass free surface.

Entry #7

Evaluator comments:

This Mini Nubian is showing desirable upright head carriage with his neck blending well into an upstanding and angular side view. He is showing the strength we would expect to see in this breed as far as muscling while maintaining that incurving thigh and sharpness. His width is very good from the chest floor back through hips to pins and he maintains that width between the legs and we view him both front and rear. He is open and arched through the escutcheon, evidence of his overall width through the rear. His development of brisket and depth increasing toward the flank add to his overall balance and body capacity. For improvement, I would like to see him more perpendicular from hock to pastern in that rear leg set. His roman nose and drop to the ears add to his overall masculinity and breed character. He scores highest of this group of senior bucks.
