8 yrs old. Ginny is I unregistered, and the first goat we ever milked, but her longevity and sweet nature, her perfect health and amazing production (a gallon a day for extended lactation) are making me want to keep her doeling and breed down from her. I’d love thoughts on her strengths and weaknesses.

I see a lot to appreciate about this doe and love being able to see that from across the barn in her profile picture. In general appearance she is strong in the front end with good extension of brisket and strong feet and legs. She could be more angulated in the rear leg, but as an 8yr old, I’m willing to accept some straightening of her rear legs. She is not perfectly level in the chine and loin and I would certainly want to level out her rump some but certainly she has plenty of width in that rump. I love the smooth blending from neck into her shoulders. In dairy strength she really shines. She is clean in the thigh and clean and highly arched in the flank. I love the angle to her rib giving her that lovely dairy wedge. Her long dairy neck, flat bone, and deep jaw further my appreciation of her dairy strength. In body capacity she is deep and wide and strong throughout. In mammary, she has a lovely shaped rear udder and good size teats. I would love to see more capacity and extension to her fore udder but her rear udder is high, wide, and well attached. She has a strong medial suspensory ligament which adds to the lovely shape. A very beautiful doe, I am glad she is doing good things for you as well.
