Senior Does in milk

Entry #1

Owner comments: Photos taken 6/5/18. F4, second freshener. Freshened 5/24/18. She has an uneven udder despite being milked because her twin bucklings preferred the same side.

Evaluator comments:

This 2 year old 2nd freshening doe exudes dairy character with her long feminine neck and sharp angular bone pattern. She has a capacious mammary system that is well attached, but could offer some improvement in the medial suspensory ligament, which would help bring her teats into a plumb position. She could also benefit from a more extended fore udder, and more balance to her mammary system. She has lovely breed character with a nice roman nose. Her front end assembly is very correct with her front legs placed directly under her withers. She has very nice angulation in her rear legs, but could be stronger on her rear pasterns.

Entry #2

Owner comments: She is a first freshener.

This yearling, 1st freshener is a very powerful doe with excellent general appearance. She’s standing on excellent feet and legs, with nice angulation in the rear. She has nice depth of heart girth, and deepening into the rear barrel.

She has a nice balanced mammary system with nice fore udder, and excellent medial and plumb teats. She could use a bit more height in her rear udder. She is showing tremendous length from hips to pins, and width across her thurls. She exhibits a nice roman nose, but has a bit more ear control than she should.

An immature, yearling milker, but very correct in her shoulder assembly with her front legs directly under her withers. Nice depth of body, but she stands a bit down hill with her shoulders being lower than her hips. She has nice length of loin, and depth of barrel. She is a bit steep from hips to pins, and appears a bit high in her dorsal process.

She has a wide rear udder but could benefit from a stronger medial suspensory ligament, and more extension to her fore udder. She has nice width to her muzzle and chest floor, but is lacking breed character with her almost straight face, and airplane ears. She could have a bit more angle in her rear legs, and she appears shallow in her heels.

Entry #4

Owner comments:  4 year old

This lovely 4 year old Mini Lamancha excels in mammary system with her capacious, tightly attached udder, which from the side shows nice balance with 1/3 of the mammary showing in front and 1/3 showing behind the leg. She has an exceptional foreudder, but could have a bit stronger medial suspensory ligament.

She carries tremendous width throughout. She is nice and deep in her heart girth with good depth of barrel. She appears a bit coarse over her shoulders, and could offer a bit more angularity in her rear legs. She has a very level topline.

Owner comments:  2 yr old FF

Evaluator comments:

This 2 year old first freshening Mini LaMancha has great dairy strength with flatness of bone, sharp withers and a long elegant neck. She has good with in the chest floor that continues throughout. She is very wide across the thurls. She could be stronger in the area of the chine, but has a nice long topline.

She has a capacious mammary system, but is fairly high in her lateral attachments, and could be a bit more extended in the fore. Her front legs are set a bit too far forward, and she could be stronger in her pasterns, especially in front.

This is a lovely 2 year old first freshener with good general appearance. She has an excellent front end assembly with her front legs set directly under her withers, showing good extension of her brisket. She has tremendous depth of barrel, but is a bit weak in her chine. She is standing on good feet and legs, and has great width throughout.

She has a very wide rear udder with a strong medial suspensory ligament. She could use more extension to the foreudder and a bit more height to her rear udder.

This is a very dairy 2 year old first freshener, She is very sharp in her withers and has a nice dairy “wedge” shape, although roaches over her loin. She has a long rump from hips to pins, and has good width between the thurls.

She carries a capacious mammary, with it being carried well above the hocks, but could use stronger lateral attachments, and more desirable teat placement. She is very angular in the rear legs, but almost to the point of sickle hocked.

Owner comments:  F3. She is a second-freshener, freshened April 14, 2018. Photos taken 8-5-18

A very dairy 2 year old 2nd freshening Mini Nubian. Long and elegant in her neck that blends smoothly into her sharp dairy withers. Good length throughout. Nice front end assembly with her legs set directly under her withers. She could use more depth of body, especially depth of barrel.

She could be stronger in rear pasterns, and for an F3 I would like to see better breed character in regards to ear length and carriage. She could use more capacity in her mammary system with stronger lateral attachments, and proper teat placement.

Owner comments:  50/50 F1. Second Freshener, freshened June 6, 2018. Photos taken 8-5-18

A lovely F1 2nd freshening Mini Nubian. Nice general appearance, with front lets set directly under her sharp shoulders. Nice length of rump but could be a bit longer in the topline. Good depth of body but could be a bit deeper in the chest floor.

She could benefit from more capacity in the mammary system with more height and width to the rear udder. She has a nice strong medial, but her teats are a bit to the outside. While she has nice pasterns, she appears a bit shallow in the heals, and could be tighter in the toes.

A lovely Mini Lamancha with nice width throughout. Lovely spring of rib and a long level topline. She could benefit from more depth of barrel to balance out her width. She is standing on good feet, but is a bit open at the point of elbow.

She has a wide rear udder that is well attached, with nice extension to the fore. She is very wide in the chest floor that carries throughout.
