Evaluator comments:

Correct front shoulder assembly, straight in front legs with good depth of heel. She should be tighter in the toes. Less ear control is needed. She has some power in the brisket which we can see when viewed from the side. Top line is adequate, desirable length in the rump. Hard to tell about width at the thurls. Escutcheon should be more arched and could be higher.

Use a buck to continue dairy strength, giving her more refinement and angularity.

Evaluator comments:

This junior doe is strong over the topline, but should be more level in the rump from hips to pins. The front end legs are set slightly in front of the withers. She should have more desirable blending at the point of the shoulder. She has correct feet in terms of depth of heels and tightness of toes. Her front legs are straight and she has correct angulation in the rear legs. The rear end shows desirable width at hocks with width in the arch at escutcheon.

Major needs are levelness in the rump area, also stretch in length from a dairy buck.

Evaluator comments:

A young doe. It’s difficult to determine the respective parts. It appears she needs to stretch out, more particularly in height of withers and junction of neck to front end. In her front end she needs to be deeper with a more prominent brisket. Rump seems long enough but should be flatter from thurls to thurls. She is wide in the back with adequate width at the arch and at the hocks.

Breed her to a buck that will lengthen her and provide the angularity she needs.

Evaluator comments:

Her front end assembly is correct with front legs set under withers. She is coarse at the shoulders needing more desirable blending. She is standing base wide and it would help to see her set more correctly with straight legs. Feet seem tight with adequate depth of heels. At this point, she is high at the hips and could be cleaner and flatter across the thurls. In the escutcheon she should be more open and flatter in thighs.

Breed her to a buck that will add refinement, her, increase dairy strength and clean her up.

Evaluator comments:

Decent topline with correct shoulder assembly. She needs to be wider in front with more depth in the brisket. Front legs are straight but she needs more angulaton in her rear legs. She shows adequate dairy strength but more width throughout would give her more angularity.

Her basic needs are width and strength.

Evaluator comments:

This young doe shows impressive depth when viewed from the side. She is wide in the front and carries the width throughout with a wide escutcheon. She is deep in the heel with tight toes. She is strong on her pasterns. Her topline is level although slightly high in the hips and she has length in her rump.  Breed her to a buck who will maintain her width without making her coarse.

Evaluator comments:

This doe needs some balance in terms of length of body. Her front legs should be straighter and she needs to be stronger and straighter over the top particularly more levelness in the rump. Width and depth in the front end is necessary. She is open enough in her escutcheon arch and flat in the thighs.

She needs a buck that will lengthen her without making her any narrower.

Evaluator comments:

A tall, upstanding doe. She shows good length in her canon bones but toes out in the front legs. She should be deeper in the front end and wider and more powerful in the brisket. She needs to be more level from hips to pins in the rump. Rear legs are properly angulated and she is wide at the hocks. Adequate arch in the escutcheon and proper height to the vulva.

She needs strength with a stronger topline, particularly more level in the rump.

Evaluator comments:

A clean, impressive topline, level all the way across the top to the pins. Correct in front legs with excellent feet and depth of heels. She shows desirable refinement and angular dairy strength. More width in the front and depth would be desirable, she is clean and wide in the rear. Properly arched into the escutcheon and flat in the thighs, giving her ample room for an udder.

Not much to change with this doe. More strength in the brisket would be desirable. Use a buck that will maintain the dairy strength and levelness along with the correct topline.

Evaluator comments:

This is a deep-bodied young doe. She needs to be more level in the rump and is over angulated in the rear legs. She has proper set to front feet, but should be straighter in front legs. Dairy strength is a need and she should be more angulated and open in ribbing. Thurls are low–she would be more level if they were higher.

Her needs are in dairy strength, specifically openness and levelness across the top.

Evaluator comments:

Length and levelness are needed, she should be more prominent in the withers, longer in the neck and more level in the rump. She is wide and deep enough in the front end. Her front legs are appropriately straight. In the rear legs, she is wide enough at the hocks but should have more width at the arch of the escutcheon.

Breed her to a buck that will increase her length and openness.

Evaluator comments:

Wide in the front end and reasonably level across the topline to the hips. She should be longer and more level in the rump. She is straight in the front leg and reasonably angulated in the rear legs. Toes should be tighter, but she is strong on her pasterns. She should be deeper in the front end and more powerful in the brisket. She is open in the escutcheon with room for an udder.

She needs a buck who will lengthen her and provide more angularity.

Evaluator comments:

Levelness in the topline is lacking, particularly in the high hips and steep rump. Pasterns are strong and she has adequate depth of heel. She is correct in her forelegs and has sufficient angulation in her rear legs. She is wide at the hocks and shows sufficient angulation in her rear legs.

Topline, specifically levelness, is her main need.

Evaluator comments:

Deep in the front end and sharp at the withers. She is tight and correct in the shoulder assembly, but should be tighter at the shoulders. Front legs are properly set with tight toes and deep heels. She should blend more smoothly from the loin into the hips and be more level and wider in the rump. She needs to be more open in the escutcheon and have more width at the hocks so that the hind legs are more squarely set. When viewed from the side, angulation in the hind legs is correct.

Blending in the shoulders and levelness in the rump are areas to work on.

Evaluator comments:

Wide in the front, but she needs to be deeper. Front legs are correct, straight and she has correct angulation in the rear legs. She is open in the toes. Her topline is level enough with a decent set from hips to pins. She has adequate width in hind legs and is open in the escutcheon. She needs to be more level in rump and higher and flatter in the thurls.

Openness and angularity are areas to work on, increasing her dairy strength.

Evaluator comments:

Well-blended in shoulder assembly, she could be fuller in the brisket, giving her more power in the front. The front legs should be straighter. Feet are correct, pastern are strong. She is level over the topline. Angulation in hind legs is correct. Width in the hind quarters is very impressive.

She needs more depth without sacrificing her dairy strength.

Entry #17

Generation: 4

Evaluator comments:

At this point, she is high in the hips, so levelness is a need. She should blend more smoothly at the shoulders, but she shows strength with her prominent brisket. Heels are shallow and toes should be tighter. She shows good width at the hocks. Escutcheon is wide and clean.

Topline, specifically blending in the hips, is the main need.

Entry #18

Generation: 1

Owner comments:

Evaluator comments:

She has a short body and is lacking in dairy strength. She lacks in levelness and overall length. Rump should also be more level, longer and flatter from side to side.

Length and stretch are important areas to work on when making breeding decisions.

Evaluator comments:

Adequate width and depth in the front end. Topline is level to the hips, but the rump is steep to the pins. She is short in the neck and should blend more smoothly into the shoulder area. Shoulder assembly is rough but correct, with front legs correctly set under the withers. Hard to tell about pasterns.

Needs length and blending throughout.

Entry #20

Generation: 1

Owner comments:

Evaluator comments:

Young doe, correct topline to hips but steep in the rump. Straight in the front legs with good angulation in the rear legs. She has sufficient width in front and has width in the escutcheon. Her needs are for more length, in the neck and in the body.

Breeding her to a buck with dairy strength would complement her deficiencies.
