Evaluator comments:

A productive mature doe with excellent udder. She shows impressive dairy strength with her angularity and openness. In her front she needs to be tighter at the point of the elbow and more desirably blended at the point of the shoulder. She is wide enough but should be deeper in the front for a fifth freshener. She is correct in her feet with sufficient depth of heel and decent tightness of toes. Very impressive mammary with a high, well-arched rear udder. Teats are plumb, slightly on the outside, but with desirable shape and well-articulated.

Breed her to a dairy buck with a level rump and a correct front end.

Evaluator comments:

In general appearance she is slightly high in the hips and should have more desirable blending into the rump area. Front end is correct, tight at point of elbow, good set with legs directly under the withers. Mammary is productive but needs to be higher and more arched at the top. Low thurls make the rump steeper and coarser than it should be. Feet are too spread and should be more correctly set facing forward. Rear legs need more angulation.

Focus on general appearance, specifically top line and legs, front and rear.

Deep bodied first freshener. Impressive for her body capacity. She should show more strength and depth in the front end. She has a correct front end with the front legs under the withers. Legs are straight with appropriate angulation in the rear. Toes should be tighter, but good depth of heel. The mammary is adequate for a first freshener, but it needs to be higher in the rear. The medial is too flat and needs to show more delineation. Teats should be correctly spaced two-thirds distance from the medial.

Mammary is the biggest need. Look for improvement in height of rear, increasing medial.

Decent topline with good length in rump. She shows some strength in the front with a prominent brisket. At this point she is a little high in the hips but this can change. Front legs toe out and should be straighter. Dairy strength not evident over the top, but I suspect she could be more open with a flatter bone. The mammary has a nice shape. It could be higher with a stronger lateral ligament. Her biggest need is dairy strength.

Breed her to a buck that will clean her up and give her flatter dairy bone.

Evaluator comments:

This is a first freshener with a long, deep barrel. In the front end she should be deeper but appears wide enough. Over the top, she should be cleaner and flatter in the rump across the thurls. She should be higher at the withers. The width at the thighs is an indication of her need for more dairy strength. Teat placement of the mammary is a problem. They should be one third of the way from the outside of the udder. As a first freshener, she should have more capacity with a longer fore and higher rear.

Mammary is her biggest need.

Evaluator comments:

Relative to her size, she has sufficient width. She needs to be stretched out, longer in neck and in body, more level in rump. Dairy strength would be the way to go. If she had more dairy strength, the length would follow. Good front legs, but needs more angulation in the rear legs. Decent shape to the mammary, but needs more delineation in the teats and they should be one third of the way from the outside of the udder. The medial is adequate, but the lateral ligament should extend further forward.

Her biggest need is length and openness. Select a buck that will provide these features.

Evaluator comments:

Capacious in body with sufficient depth. She needs to be more level in the rump from hips to pins. Probably will level out over the top with another lactation. She has some strength in the front and with adequate depth. She has dairy strength and gives the impression of openness and flatness of bone. Her front legs are straight, but could be tighter in the toes. For a first freshener, she has a decent rear udder with good height. The fore udder could be longer to give her more capacity.

Her main needs are levelness in the rump, a part of general appearance.

Entry #8

Generation:   7  Lactation:   2

Owner comments:   Single buckling

Evaluator comments:

A pleasant general appearance doe when viewed from the side. This is a second freshener and impressive for the increasing depth into the flank. A functional front end with a good set to the shoulders and front legs. She needs more depth and width in the brisket and should be stronger in the chine. Her length in the rump is adequate. Front legs tow out slightly, but she has good angulation in the rear legs. The mammary looks productive, but she needs more arch with more height in the rear udder.

Her main need is in the mammary, getting it higher and tighter, particularly in the rear.

A young doe with angularity and openness; impressive for her dairy strength. She has decent front end assembly but toes out slightly in the front legs. She needs more depth in the front. Her topline shows refinement and openness. She shows extreme angulation in the rear legs. She could be more level in the rump from hips to pins. The mammary shows a nice shape in the rear but needs to be higher. Medial is lacking but a nice balance to the udder when viewed from the side.

Her main needs are topline and rear leg set. She also needs some height in the rear udder with a more delineated medial.

Beautiful topline, particularly for the long level rump. She is very open and angular with a correct front end with proper set to the front legs and tight to the elbows. She could show more strength in the front with more depth. She toes out slightly in her set to the front legs. Good set and angulation to the rear legs. A nice shape to the udder. Teats are well placed and delineated.

She needs more height and arch to the rear udder. The mammary, particularly the rear udder, is the area to be worked on.

Evaluator comments:

Capacious first freshener with sufficient width throughout. She toes out in the front legs. and needs to be cleaner over the top with a more articulated rump and loin. The rear leg set is pronounced but acceptable. In the mammary she looks productive with good capacity in the rear but It should be higher. The fore udder is short, cutting down on the capacity. Teats should be more delineated and correctly pointed down.

Cleaning up the topline and getting more strength to the fore udder are areas to work on.

Entry #12

Generation:  4   Lactation:   1

Owner comments:   freshened on 5/26/2021... 5 months fresh

Evaluator comments:

A deep-bodied first freshener. She has strength in the front end and carries the width throughout. An impressive wide rump. She is correct on her feet and legs. The topline with the high hips may change with subsequent lactations. The rump may also change and become more level. The mammary has a pleasing shape and is well set when viewed from the side. The teats need to be more desirably placed one-third of the way from the side. More desirable delineation of the medial would also help as would a higher, more arched rear udder.

General appearance and specifically topline is important in breeding her, as are rear udder components.

Entry #13

Generation:  1  Lactation:   1

Owner comments:   kidded 5/17/2021, 5 months fresh

Evaluator comments:

A deep-bodied first freshener, she should be more level over the topline, particularly in the rump. Front legs are set slightly in front of the withers. She needs to be more open and angular. The thickness in the thighs is an indication of the lack of dairy strength. In the mammary she needs to be higher, wider and fuller at the arch of the udder. Teats are correctly placed, but should point down or slightly forward.

Dairy strength is the main area to work on.
