Entry #17

Evaluator comments:

The brown and white Mini La Mancha is excelling in width. She is a balanced doe with good brisket development and desirable length of body. Her front view indicates that her shoulder attachment could use some improvement to give her a more correct set to those front legs and smoother blending in the front end assembly. In rear leg set, she would benefit from more well angulated stifles. Her mammary shows a capacious, balanced udder with a high and wide attachment with good arch to the escutcheon giving her strength in that area of the scorecard. She is showing that nice dairy wedge as we view her over the top with excellent spring of rib.

Owner comments:  First freshening 4 months fresh in all pictures except #3 which was taken right before she kidded (in labor).

Entry # 18

Evaluator comments:

This doe is showing width and depth but is lacking in overall balance and symmetry as well as angularity from the side. Her length of body is desirable, but we would like to see greater levelness in the rump as well as levelness over the loin. She would benefit from a more upstanding front end assembly to add symmetry and angularity which would improve her general appearance. Her neck and head would benefit from more upright carriage. In mammary she is balanced and showing good capacity with a smoothly blended fore udder but could use more area of attachment in the rear to add to that score. In breed character we would increase the length of ear as well as the drop.

Evaluator comments:

The Mini La Mancha is showing good overall length and balanced width from front to rear. She is showing very good dairy character with the cleanness about the thigh and long, lean neck. She is very open through the escutcheon, leaving good area for attachment but we do not have the capacity in this udder to fully evaluate that aspect. We can see it is a balanced mammary at this stage with excellent teat size. She would benefit in general appearance with smoother blending from the neck into the shoulders and a more level rump. Her nice spring of rib and width from hips to pins give her desirable angularity as we view her over the top.

Entry # 20

Evaluator comments:

This Mini La Mancha doe has a very feminine head with a neck that ties nicely in to the body proper. For more balance she could benefit from depth at the point of elbow for a more gradual increase to her excellent depth in the flank. More angulation at the stifle would also help level that slope to the rump and give more length to the appearance and levelness at the loin. The mammary shows seamless attachment in the fore udder blending well into the abdomen and attachment that is high and wide in the rear. The udder shows nice balance and symmetry as well as teat size and placement. She has desirable width over the top with her spring of rib and increasing width back through the hips.

Entry # 21

Evaluator comments:

This doe is smoothly blended with an upstanding appearance showing excellent front end assembly and a very strong topline. Her breed character about the head is noteworthy with that length of ear and convex nose while she would benefit from a bit more drop to the ears. She is an angular doe from the side and top showing good dairy character. In mammary she would benefit from more area of attachment in the rear with more width needed in the escutcheon, while she blends nicely from that fore udder. She would also improve in rear leg angulation by being more perpendicular from hock to pastern. In body capacity we would like to see her with greater depth more consistent with her age and breed.

Owner comments:  first freshening yearling about a month into lactation here

Entry # 22

Evaluator comments:

This Mini La Mancha doe scores well overall with excellent body capacity while maintaining very nice angularity over the top view. She has excellent width in the chest that follows through and increases back through the hips and pins. In mammary she is showing excellent capacity in a well-attached and well-balanced udder that stands at the top of this group. She would benefit from greater levelness in the rump and more levelness from thurl to thurl. In legs and feet, she would improve with more strength in her pasterns and in the rear by being more perpendicular from hock to pastern.

Evaluator comments:

The Mini-Nubian here is a very upstanding doe with excellent length and very angular and correct in that rear leg set when viewed from the side. Her dairy character can be seen in that incurving thigh and overall sharpness. Her length and levelness of rump from hips to pins and thurl to thurl contribute to her angularity from the rear. With the width she is showing in the escutcheon, I would like to see a more capacious udder with more area of attachment in the fore udder. Teat size and placement are good. She would improve with more correctness in the juncture of neck to shoulders as well as being straighter in front and rear legs as viewed from the front with more fullness through the crops.
